MATHURA :- In Hinduism Mathura is believed to be the birth place of Krishna, which is located at the centre of the Shri krishna janmabhoomi. It is one of the Sapta Puri, the seven cities considered holy by Hindus. Hindus tourists every year looking to visit the humerous temple in the city.
Mathura city in the North Indian state of U.P. It is located approximately 50 km, north of Agra 145 km , south east of Delhi about 11 km from the town of Vrindavan and 22 km from Govardhan.
The history of Mathura can be dated back to 2500 year ago, where lord Krishna was born and spent his youth. Mathura is also mentioned in the Hindu epic “Ramayana”. The city is dotted with temples and over 25 ghat on the bank of river Yamuna. The standout of the town’s cuisine are its sweet and milk product. Pede, a form of sweet dish made from condensed milk, is a specialty here.
Visiting during February, March for the holi celebration at Nandgaon, Barsana and Mathura, is a different experience altogether. Holika Dahan here is also a great attraction in Mathura.
